Mapping slaughterhouses supply-shed and exposure to deforestation and emission risk

Explore source municipalities connected to Brazilian beef facilities inspected at federal, state, and municipal levels. GTA rows are mapped as estimated municipality-level GTA connections, which include direct and indirect connections; SIG-SIF rows provide an average state slaughter supply-shed fallback for facilities without recorded GTA links. Municipal-level inspection facilities may include single-municipality inspection (SIM) and consortium arrangements. Learn more about Brazilian sanitary inspection and certification.

Selected data in current selection

Main companies by supply-shed mapping method

GTA record SIG-SIF fallback

Shows top selected companies by number of facilities, split between recorded GTA supply sheds and SIG-SIF fallback.

Supply-shed mapping method

GTA record SIG-SIF fallback

Shows the share of mapped facilities covered by recorded GTA versus SIG-SIF fallback for the selected inspection level. SIM includes consortium facilities.

GTA supply-network weight share by source state

Shows the percentage share of GTA supply-network weight by source municipality state within the current selection. Percentages are used to compare relative importance, not absolute production volume.

Mapping method by source biome

GTA record SIG-SIF fallback

Shows, for each source biome, the share of mapped source links covered by GTA records versus SIG-SIF fallback. This is a link-share view because GTA volume and SIG-SIF state-level volume weighted by slaughterhouse are not directly comparable.
