The number of cattle slaughtered per state/year

• Compared against IBGE Trimestral survey to give some indication of how complete the data are for each year.
• Note the IBGE data don’t necessarily include all slaughterhouses (esp municipal, or informal slaughter).

The ages of slaughtered cattle/state

• Ths could also be visualised on a map, adapting the code used to produce slaughter_ages_map.jpg.

The % of GTAs with missing animal numbers

• Many GTAS scraped by NA for SC have no information on the number of animals moved per batch. These were allocated the median number of animals moved for the state.

Overall, 74.6% of SC’s cattle GTAs were missing information on the number of animals per batch, which is 4.52% of all cattle GTAs.

Missing information

• Many of the GTAs have information on either the origin or the destination properties missing.
• Here we summarise how many GTAs are missing several different pieces of information.

GTAs between the same owner

• Many GTAs are movements apparently between properties owned by the same person.
• Here I summarise what proportion of GTAs are movements where the origin and destination taxNumbers are identical, and what proportion of these movements also have matching property/owner names, are inter-municipal movements, or movements to/from a fair.
